1. What is Students Connecting?
Students Connecting is the first multilingual online community exclusively dedicated to connecting student members/ parents of student members seeking tutoring services with student tutor members providing tutoring services! Students Connecting wants to empower students to reach their highest academic potential, and provides tools and resources to connect students seeking tutoring services with student tutors in the language, subject area, and at all academic levels from kindergarten through post graduate levels. Students Connecting wants students to "connect" with each other in the way that they prefer- through in person tutoring sessions and/ or through all web enabled communication platforms!

2. Why should I join Students Connecting as a Student Tutor Member?
Students Connecting is ALL ABOUT STUDENTS! We want to provide you as a Student Tutor Member with opportunities to share your tutoring skills and experience as you build your tutoring business and earn money. During Phase 1 of our launch, Students Connecting is inviting Student Tutors to join our community as Charter Members with “Free Membership”. We hope that you will join our community, create and share your profile, and let us know how we can make Students Connecting your Number 1 Resource as you search for tutoring jobs! We will launch Phase 2 as soon as 500 Student Tutors have registered as Student Tutor Members, and we will continue to reach out to Student Tutors to join our community. During Phase 2, we will also reach out to students/ parents of students seeking your tutoring services. During Phase 2, Student Tutor membership is “FREE”, and we hope that during Phase 2 that you will have opportunities to “CONNECT” with Student Members Seeking Tutoring Services, and that they will have opportunities to “CONNECT” with you through our innovative tools and resources! 3. Why is Students Connecting unique?
Students Connecting wants to provide you as a Student Tutor Member with a variety of innovative tools to help you build your tutoring business as you share your tutoring skills and experience, and earn money. At Students Connecting, you ALWAYS keep 100% of your earnings! Students Connecting encourages you to FIND, CONNECT and COMMUNICATE with students seeking your tutoring services in the language, subject area, at the academic level from K- Post Graduate Levels in the way you prefer- through in person sessions and/ or through web enabled communication platforms!
4. How much does it cost to join Students Connecting?
Membership at Students Connecting is FREE to all Student Tutor Members. We will let you know when you will have the option to upgrade your membership to a premium plan! At Students Connecting, you set your own tutoring rates, and keep 100% of your earnings. There are NO percentages paid to Students Connecting as with other tutoring services, and you save money on advertising your tutoring services. (An online advertisement through a local news publication can cost up to $150.00 for only 10 days). Students Connecting seeks to develop the most up to date advertising and promotional campaigns to direct students and parents of students to our website where you can “CONNECT” with each other and save additional time.(How It Works)
5. How old do I need to be to become a Student Tutor Member at Students Connecting?
Student Tutor Members must be Age 16 and Above to become Student Tutor Members at Students Connecting.

6. What qualifications does a Student Tutor Member need to have at Students Connecting?
At Students Connecting, we want to empower all of our Student Tutor Members to share their tutoring skills and experience as they build their tutoring businesses as independent contractors. We believe that Student Tutors who have achieved mastery in specific academic subject areas, and who can share their knowledge and experience with students seeking their tutoring services are best qualified to become Student Tutor Members at Students Connecting!

7. How do I join Students Connecting as a Student Tutor Member?
We want to make it easy for student tutors to become members of our Students Connecting community. We encourage Student Tutors Age 18 and Above to join our community, and we encourage Student Tutors Age 16-17 to join our community with the permission of their parents/ legal guardians. To begin your registration, Click on “ Register Now” on our “Home” Page where you will be directed to our “Date of Birth” page. After entering your date of birth, you will be directed to our Registration Page, Step 1 corresponding to your age- ie: Age 16-17 or Age 18 and Above. You can also register using your FACEBOOK account. You will be asked to provide information which we will verify to protect you, and ensure that you are “you”. You will then complete your registration through an easy set of steps.(How It Works)
8. What are the rates that Student Tutor Members charge for providing tutoring services?
At Students Connecting, you are able to set your own tutoring rate which usually ranges from $10.00-30.00 per hour. The rate that you charge for your tutoring services will vary with your experience, subject material, and academic level in which you will be providing tutoring services. You can negotiate your rate with the Student Members/ Parents of Student Members Seeking your Tutoring Services, and you will always be able to update your tutoring rate information in your profile
9. I have registered as a Student Tutor Member and I am waiting for my verification e-mail- How do I get it?
Your verification e-mail should arrive in your inbox within 30 minutes. ( Please also check your Spam folder to see if it is there). If you do not receive the verification e-mail within that time frame, please contact us (Contact Us)
10. Does Students Connecting conduct background checks?
Students Connecting does not conduct background checks for our Student Tutor Members / Student Members Seeking Tutoring Services. Please visit our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for additional information.
11. What services does Students Connecting provide for Student Tutor Members?
Students Connecting seeks to provide our Student Tutor Members with opportunities to FIND, CONNECT, and COMMUNICATE with Student Members Seeking Tutoring Services. We develop and implement ongoing advertising and promotional programs created to direct students and parents of students seeking tutoring services to our website where they can connect with you, and you can connect with them! We seek to provide continuous innovation in content and technology as we build our community together. We update our website on an ongoing basis to ensure that we are providing the highest level of value and service to you by working together with our customer service and web development team members.
12. I have posted my qualifications and have not heard from anyone. How long does it take for people to respond to my posting?
There is no set time frame for students to respond to your posting. Sometimes, it can take several hours, and at other times it may take several weeks or longer. Check to make sure that you have included all information that will help students make a decision to contact you, and review your profile to see if there are additional subjects and academic levels that you can include to provide you with additional opportunities to find tutoring jobs. You can also post an Announcement on our Shout Out Board, and a Classified Ad on our “Classifieds” Page.
13. How do I arrange payment with Student Members/ Parents of Student Members Seeking Tutoring Services?
(Please also see our "Tips for Student Tutor Members"). You can negotiate your payments directly with
Student Members/ Parents of Student Members Seeking Tutoring Services in the way that you prefer. You can arrange for payment through your online checking / savings account, through a PayPal account you have, and / or through payment made to you directly in person. Students Connecting recommends that you receive payment prior to conducting tutoring sessions to ensure that you take care of business first so that you can focus on providing your tutoring services for the entire time that you have scheduled.
14. Can I conduct tutoring sessions on my i-Pad?
Yes, you can plan your tutoring sessions after you have made your initial contact with a Students Connecting Member through our website. Once you have exchanged contact information, you can arrange tutoring sessions in the way you prefer (in person; by phone; online). If you have an i-Pad you can use Skype® or a
Messenger® application to conduct your tutoring sessions. There are many online tools available to help you communicate remotely.
15. What if the subject in which I want to provide tutoring services is not listed?
Please scroll down through the list of subjects and add your subject to the "Other"Field.
16. I want to tutor elementary school age children. How can I post to provide tutoring services for this age group?
You can indicate on your profile the age group and subject areas in which you want to tutor. Students Connecting provides membership subscription plans to students of all ages and their parents.
17. Where do tutoring sessions take place?
Students Connecting wants you, and all of our members to conduct tutoring sessions, WHERE, WHEN and HOW you prefer! Many students like to work together at public places- ie: libraries, coffee shops , and schools. Many students like to work at the homes of Student Members, and/ or at the homes of Student Tutor Members. Students may prefer to work online using web enabled communication devices and platforms to FIND, CONNECT, and COMMUNICATE , and conduct tutoring sessions with their computers, i-Pads / tablets, and with their Smart Phones. Students Connecting encourages all of our members to decide together how to best communicate with each other. 18. I have several friends who I think will be interested in finding student tutors to help them. What can they do now before the Students Connecting PHASE 2 launch begins?
We hope that you will let your friends know about our Students Connecting community to see if we can help them find a tutor. Students can go to our Home Page, where they will see, “ I am a Student/ Parent of a Student Seeking Tutoring Services” . They can click and leave their contact information, and we will contact them as soon as we launch Phase 2. If any of your friends are interested in providing tutoring services, please let them know that they can join our community now as Student Tutor Members.
19. How will I know when my registration is complete?
You will be directed to a confirmation screen after you complete your profile, welcoming you to our Students Connecting community as an active Student Tutor Member with full membership privileges! After you receive this confirmation, you can login using your Membername/ Password or with your Facebook account to publish an announcement and/or a classified ad on our Members Only Shout Out Board, and “Classifieds” Page.
20. What if I forget or lose my Membername / Password?
You will be directed to a confirmation screen after you complete your profile, welcoming you to our Students Connecting community as an active Student Tutor Member with full membership privileges! After you receive this confirmation, you can login using your Membername/ Password or with your Facebook account to publish an announcement and/or a classified ad on our Members Only Shout Out Board, and “Classifieds” Page.
21. I want to log in for the first time as a Student Tutor Member. How do I do this?
You can access the “Login” button on our Home Page and on our navigation bar. You can login with your Students Connecting Membername and Password or through your Facebook account. Once you submit your Membername and Password/ Facebook information, you will be directed to our Members Only Control Panel Screen where you can select “Manage My Account” to add, edit, and view everything in your Students Connecting account.
22. How do I view my completed profile to see how it looks?
Once you have logged in, you will be directed to your Student Tutor Member Control Panel where you can click on “Preview my Profile” to see how your profile looks.
23. Can I edit my profile, "Classified" Ads and Shout Out Board Announcements?
At Students Connecting, you can update and edit your Profile, "Classified" Ads and Announcements whenever you want. Log in to your account and you will be directed to your Student Tutor Member "Control Panel" where you can scroll down to find, Manage my "Classified" Ads and Shout Out Board Announcements. Click on the Edit icon beside the ad / announcement where you want to make changes; proceed to edit your ad / announcement and then click on Save Changes.
24. How do I post a "Classified" Ad as a Student Tutor Member?
Log in to your Students Connecting account. When you log in, you will be directed to your Member Control Panel. Scroll down to Manage my "Classified" Ads. You will click on "Post a Classified Ad" which will direct you to a screen where you can view a sample of a "Classified" Ad. Create and post your "Classified" Ad and click Submit to post your ad.
25. How do I post an Announcement on the Students Connecting "Members Only" Shout Out Board as a Student Tutor Member?
Log in to your Students Connecting account. When you log in, you will be directed to your "Member Control Panel". Scroll down to "Manage my Students Connecting Announcements" You will click on "Post an Announcement" which will direct you to a screen where you can view a sample of an Announcement. You can create and post your announcement, and click Submit when you have finished.
26. Where do I go to see my posted "Classified Ad(s), and my "Shout Out Board" Announcement(s) once they are posted?
Log in to your account, and you will be directed to your member control panel screen where you can see a list of all of your published "Classified" Ads and Shout Out Board Announcements. You can also see your ads by going to the navigation bar on the Homepage and clicking on View "Classified" Ads and / or Shout Out Board Announcements. You can view all "Classified" Ads and Shout Out Board Announcements including yours. All "Classified" Ads and Shout Out Board Announcements are displayed in chronological order.
